Silly and uninformative. It would be helpful if someone could a list of FKA names.

Thanks.

I guess some of those are sponsors, but why eliminate the old name entirely? All the great males that have run at Santa Anita and they rename the Goodwood after a horse that broke his maiden at Hollywood, left, and never raced farther west than Shreveport after that?

The end of the Oak Tree Association's run at SA is at the heart of the changes.

Read Hovdey's piece for a fuller treatment: http://www.drf.com/news/hovdey-some-...e-others-clang

Santa Anita dropped the ball here.

Even the Zenyatta should not have pushed aside the Lady's Secret. Why disrespect that great horse? The track should have renamed one of their filly/mare races that is named for a city like the La Canada.

I'm sure they would not really care.

Well, yeah, everyone knows Santa Margarita sucks. Any town named after the patron saint of a tequila containing beverage should be burnt to the ground.

Are you kidding? They love me in La Canada!

The name changes are freaking lame. A grade 1 for 2yo fillies named after a ceiling ornament?
