King George VI and Queen Elizabeth Diamond Stakes
How the field is shaping up.....
Hurricane Run Electrocutionist Hearts Cry Maraahel Soapy Danger Enforcer Cherry Mix Belenus Connections of Ouija Board decided to pass (she could face Alexandrova the following week). Don't think Soapy will actually go but who knows. Still no definite word on who has the HR mount with the (censored) Fallon ban but it's looking like Soumillon. Maraahel..... I hope he gets up for 2nd or 3rd although i know it doesn't look likely. Nice horse who always gives his all..... a tough spot for him with these monsters. I'll go with Heart's Cry. Who do you all like? |

I don't know much about Inter Racing, but I'll take Heart's Cry since I remember the name...not sure what race it was, but remember looking at this horse's past performances.

I'm going to try to find some PP's on this in order to form an opinion.
It looks like a very nice race. When is it being run? |

No, Soapy is out.....
Final field... Heart's Cry Electrocutionist Hurricane Run Maraahel Enforcer Cherry Mix (a Godolphin rabbit in this one...) From Racing Post... Danger out of King George by Thomas Deane and Nick Robson SOAPY DANGER will not take his chance in the King George VI And Queen Elizabeth Diamond Stakes at Ascot on Saturday. Mark Johnston's three-year-old, winner of the Group 3 Queen's Vase and Group 2 Prince of Wales's Stakes on his last two starts, has been withdrawn at the final declaration stage along with Godolphin's Belenus. To that end, last year's Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe hero Hurricane Run faces just five rivals in his bid to claim a fourth win at the highest level. Andre Fabre's charge faces stiff opposition from Godolphin's Dubai World Cup winner Electrocutionist and Japanese raider Heart's Cry, who is the only thoroughbred to lower the colours of Deep Impact. Godolphin will run Cherry Mix to ensure a strong pace for Electrocutionist, while Sir Michael Stoute will be represented by Hardwicke Stakes winner Maraahel. The line-up is completed by the William Muir-trained Enforcer. Explaining the reasoning behind Soapy Danger's withdrawal, Gary Coffey, racing manager to owner Renata Jacobs, said: "We just felt that he's come a long way in a short space of time in his career. "That is basically the bottom line - we looked at the various pros and cons, had a healthy debate about it, and ended up with this decision. "It's unlikely he'll go to Goodwood (for the Group Three BGC Stakes) as he's going to have penalties to carry there. "We have no definite plans but he does hold a St Leger entry." Muir is looking forward to saddling Enforcer, who will be ridden by Martin Dwyer, in the £750,000 contest. The Efisio colt was last seen finishing third behind Soapy Danger in the Princess Of Wales's Stakes at Newmarket - having previously occupied the same position behind Maraahel in the Hardwicke Stakes at the Royal meeting. Muir reports Enforcer to have come out of his last race unscathed and hopes he will acquit himself well once again. "Things have gone fine since Newmarket and the horse is in great shape," he confirmed. "He's in fine form and has completed all his serious work now - he's just ticking away now and has done everything I want of him. "We go to the races to enjoy it and you don't get many opportunities of running in races like this. "It's not going to be a massive field so we go there with a chance. "It's a very, very good race to be taking part in so we'll go there and enjoy it." |

Current odds.....
Coral bet - Hurricane Run 11-10 Electrocutionist 9-4 Heart's Cry 3-1 Maraahel 16-1 Enforcer 33-1 Cherry Mix 66-1 Insanity. Maraahel and Enforcer are very talented. Not the big monsters, but still..... Heart's Cry / Maraahel / Electrocutionist Who do you all like? PP's should be up tomorrow morning here... http://ukracing.net/index.php?option...pper&Itemid=26 Last edited by my miss storm cat : 07-27-2006 at 05:43 PM. |

Is Electrocutionist in your Godolphin stable? Good luck but I'm hoping Maraahel wins. (I know he won't..... Heart's Cry should, but still... ). |

www.attheraces.com will be showing the races and giving out pp's. We do, however have the entire Glorious Goodwood meeting, and I have been working on producing a new program that has a whole lot more information in it. I am introducing them on Tuesday for Goodwood, and I will link them here. Ashley@UKRacing.net |

What do you think, Moodwalker..... does Maraahel have a shot (a small one, but a shot all the same?). I get very stubborn about horses i like, even when they're thrown in with three big monsters..... |

I love Maraahel, and think that he will give his all in this race as he always does (when he and Mubtaker faced off earlier in the spring it was my favorite race of the year..poor Mubtaker ) But he really doesn't belong here in my opinion, if he gets third I would be extremely impressed. The class is just too much here, and the top three in the markets are a different type of horse. I wish Maraahel would come for the Arlington Million and BC races though, I think he would work our horses |

..... and Major's Cast. I almost quit following it altogether after Horatio and these three in a matter of weeks..... just heartbreaking. I understand about the class..... maybe someday I'll be able to be completely objective. Not yet though. Anyway, I shall think of you if he hits the board. (After I'm done jumping up and down and screaming). Good luck to you! |
