Been raining there for a few days. Forecast says no more rain tomorrow. Any experienced Oaklawn watchers think there is a chance the track will dry out and be fast or good tomorrow for Southwest day?

Southwest looks kind of chalky with Mourinho and Combatant. Zing Zang looks like he has upside at a price.

Bill it is still very wet, we are hoping the rain stays away today.
Sloppy, sloppy , muddy, muddy the last 4 days.

I feel maintenance will work hard to force some of the moisture out and then seal the track.

Good would be our best guess today. 20K MC runners ran 1.11 and change yesterday, so not exactly slow.

Good luck today.

Track surface might be fast by post time for the Southwest. Sun is out, 72 degrees and a fairly strong breeze blowing.

Were you as surprised as I was that they didn't DQ Combatant?

Not really I guess. At least I don’t think the order of finish would have been different without the bump anyways.

The track has been like paste for a few weeks now. With 3-5 more inches of rain expected over the next few days, I wouldn't be surprised if they don't even race this week. I'm pretty much going to draw a line through all the races from last weekend moving forward.

Steve interviewed the trainer of Ezmosh this morning, and you're right Herk. If the forecast holds, I'll miss my first live racing day this week. Nearly impossible to figure.

Oops, my mistake. I sure enjoy your show Steve. Very professional and to the point, with great insight into all that has to happen to make winners out of horses and winners out of horseplayers.

Keep entertaining and educating all of us.
