Very ambitious spot for Long River.. After watching him Haskell day he clearly was off form and nowhere close to the horse we watched in winter. I would assume he is training MUCH better for connections to spot him in here even with the absence of any killers in Woodward.

For me its Moreno wire to wire or the entry. Both parts of the entry have multiple races that make either of them competitive. I pretty much defend both of them every time they run, but it is what it is. Anyone else wins, I lose.

Going with Zivo!

I'm hoping Itsmyluckyday has a bad reaction to blinkers and runs too fast. We'll see. It's not a race that looks exciting from a wagering standpoint.

I thought he looked a little 'ribby' too. I always root for him as a fan, but you're supposed to be against him from a wagering standpoint tomorrow.

I wouldn't call it a great return. He was 3-5. He was all out to beat a 30-1 shot. He sat a perfect trip off of a lighting fast pace. I think his last 2 races have been clear regressions over what he usually runs. He did get the job done today and he was coming off a set back, maybe he will run much better next time out. We will see.

I disagree with this entire post, but just a "set back"?

I would!

A great return is not necessarily the same thing as a great race.

This was a great return and this horse.. man, he just epitomizes the sport.

Yeah, I wouldn't call emergency colic surgery a setback either.

Yeah, I wouldn't call emergency colic surgery a setback either.
He raced in May. He missed 6 weeks of training, if that?
His race in May was a clear regression, that was before the colic.

I was a huge Lawyer Ron fan (he was my Derby horse, make fun of me, it's okay)- it's nice to see his son win the same race his daddy did. Because I'm a nerd, I googled and Itsmyluckyday makes for the third father-son winners of the Woodward.
