The Phipps horse Perform in the Tesio has an interesting profile.

Finally broke his maiden last time out at Tampa, but prior to that going back to the summer of last year ran in nothing but loaded maiden races with Lost Ark, Disarm, Arthur's Ride, Rocket Can, Raise Cain, and Mage.

Third dam is Leslie's Lady who dropped Beholder, Into Mischief, and Mendelssohn.

Could get an all expenses paid off-the-board finish in the Preakness if it can win this weekend.

He looked 100-1 at the top of the stretch and about 50-1 mid stretch, but that was some finish. My guess is the fig will come back slow but that was a nice finish

That was some kind of ride. Almost like they substituted playing Frogger for going to jockey school.

Horse also nearly went to his knees at the start, then had some decent momentum stopped midway down the backstretch when the rider had the bright idea to run up behind tiring horses.

Horse certainly showed some agility, willingness to take dirt, travel up the rail, and run between horses.

The age-old conundrum. Are slow races with tons of trouble just slow races or a harbinger of a good horse that can run faster with a reasonable trip? With Baffert getting his stock back soon and able to compete at SPA this year the competition is about to be reinvigorated.

I read multiple tweets about how good the ride was.



It was a miracle he didn’t hurt himself or the horse.

Seriously? Even the jock knew he almost cost the horse a victory. The pace horses didn't melt away, so there is also that to consider.

At the very least, we likely won't see him in the Preakness despite the free ride because he's not TC nominated and the connections would have to cough up 6-figures to watch him trail throughout.

Seems like a prime candidate for the Peter Pan where he can get a second chance to convince his owners to pony up the supplementary fees for an off-the-board finish in the Belmont Stakes...
