Can't wait. Great wagering opportunity and more importantly should just be a genuinely great race.

Palice Malice didn't have the best of trips in the Louisiana Derby and I liked him that day...
Anyone know TAPs record with stakes level horses (or any level I suppose) coming off two weeks rest? |

4 for 15 with 8 ITM in the Past 5 Years (Graded Stakes between 11 and 16 days). The wins were Behindatthebar in the '08 Lexington, Caixa Electronic in the '12 True North, San Pablo in the '12 Iselin, and Unlimited Budget in the '12 Demoiselle.

Also, in non graded stakes for that same scenario he is 5 for 13 with 10 ITM and an ROI of $3.40. So they can run on short rest on the rare occasion he asks them to.

Is this Pletcher' s call or does Dogwood want to be in the derby badly?

Just a guess but I'd say Dogwood wants in the Derby bad.

I like him too. His synthetic numbers last year are very good for a 2yo. Standard improvement from 2 to 3 puts him in this. The aggressive spotting has to be a positive.

I'm not sure what Casse's win percentage is in big races in the U.S. but how could anyone take 7/2 on any of his horses in U.S. Stake races? Seems like ever since he was on Steve's show before the Breeders Cup he has not done too much.
BTW this comment will probably put him right in the winner circle!! :P |

If that's not a mistake, it might be even worse than the 20:1 ML on Sky Blazer last week. It's a big field, so 15:1 to 20:1 seems possible, but he's a reasonably logical horse.

The Keeneland MLs have been pretty laughable all meet. . .

As laughable as the Madison being a Grade 1?

Ha. That might be a toss-up.
Kune Kune feels less-than-impossible in there. I guess I shouldn't plan on the 20-1 ML though. |

I just want to book Jamaican Smoke if she's a short price.
