Default It's finally here. I'm published!

Exclusively Equine ad is on-line

"Great Thoroughbred Sires of the World (Pre-Order)
"Hardcover Our Price: $230.00
Availability: Expected Ship Date: 11/27/2006
"A definitive reference which highlights the racing and stud careers of 205 stallions which shaped the Thoroughbred breeding and racing world in the 20th Century and beyond. This epic work ranks right up there with Debrett’s Peerage as a real tour de force. The statistical information includes each horse’s race and stud record, its record as a broodmare sire plus the stud record of its principal sire sons and grandsons.

"In-depth profiles and expert commentaries on 205 of the world’s breed-shaping sires.

"Over 10 years of research!"

'In-depth profile and expert commentaries', that's my part. Well, actually, I only did one profile, Hoist the Flag, but, hey! this is my first time in hardcover - everything else so far has been magazine stuff. I'm so thrilled I had to share.

Congrats!! But 230 bucks sounds a little steep, lemme know when it comes out in paperback, nothing personal of course.

Congrats Ann! Lots of hard work and skill needed for this accomplishment, and probably well worth the tab for it! Will you be making the rounds on daily shows? Best Timm

My pay for the one essay is one copy of the book, no royalties. But I only get $150 for my longer, monthly articles, so it's a pretty good deal. And I get to be grouped in with a bunch of stars in the field, whether I deserve it or not.

well done Ann.
that book will be my Christmas present to myself.
sounds like it will be a good read.

seeing that you are an author, are there any other thoroughbred books comprised of biographies or breeding that you would especially recommend?

I read the Bloodhorse's Top 100 Racehorses of the 20th Century and the similar book that Thoroughbred Times put out.
Ive read most of the essential handicapping books, but I was hoping to buy some more biographical based books on the sport.
thanks.

Congratulations. That sounds like a book that will find it's way into the home of every top breeder in the world. I will be sure to pick up a few copies as Christmas gifts.

I know your stallion was one of the most talented horses to ever run. I would not call myself an expert like you but I know his Grecian Banner was actually the mother of Personal Ensign. It is pretty remarkable how he produced really good daughters and not so good sons. Does the book get into AEI/CI ratios?

You must feel like you owned Hoist The Flag after becoming the Hoist The Flag expert. I hear how authors feel they knew people they were writing about and started to talk to them as if they were alive (Doris Kearns Goodwin said this about Lincoln). So do you find yourself rooting for anything from his bloodlines?

I root for all the Hail to Reason horses, especially those from Roberto like Dynaformer. I have wasted quite a few dollars betting on horses simply because they came from that Hail to Reason line.

Congratulations and Happy Thanksgiving.
