Default Dolphins Vs Giants

NFL game to be played at Wembley, London today.

I'm really glad to see an NFL finally being played in England. NFL has really picked up over here, much more media coverage. We get at least two (sometimes three) games live on TV every Sunday, the NFL preview shows and much more.

Any opinion on this game?

Many over here are saying it's only a matter of time before out top 'soccer' sides play a premiership game in America. It would be great for the sport. Would it be popular if that was to happen. Say Manchester United Vs Chelsea in somewhere like LA or New York.

dolphins are going to get smacked in the mouth. again.
i think if they're going to play over there, it shouldn't be in mid season. altho both teams have byes next week, they had to get right on a plane to fly over after their last. no doubt a bunch of stiff, sore, jet lagged and unhappy players.

I do not like the idea of regular season games overseas. Someone loses a home game, that means fans and employees that work and go to all the games get screwed. Also. How many times do guys get hurt and have to stay at hospitals for a few days? If they really are intent on have a game overseas, why not make it the pro bowl. It's all the all stars of the league, alot of scoring and not too many guys get teed off on. Also you wouldn't have worry about hearing teams bitch about thier routines getting screwed up.

It's just stupid talk about having more games over seas to me. The start times are all off and it screws the everyday season ticket holder out of a game. I loved the talk they were having about the Super Bowl maybe being played outside the USA. Thoughts of 10,000 Bass Boats going across the pond to kick some arse come to mind in that one.

I understand what you're saying, but isn't that a rather biased opinion? I mean, i love watching American football, but that usually means having to stay up until 1.30am to see the finish of a game.

It's all about marketing. NFL has boomed over here in the last 2-3 years, there is a strong market. They made sure they kept a record of people who bought tickets for this game and 7% of the crowd have come from America to watch it. Now on the face of it, 7% doesn't seem like a huge figure, but when you think of a flight of at least 6-7hours, that is some dedication.

It is a great thing for the sport overall.

Your points are all valid ones, but if they decided to take a top soccer game to America, i would support it all the way. It's great world wide marketing.

What would be great if a deal could be done with airlines, and provide cheap airfares for people with game tickets.

Man if Liverpool FC ever went to play a premiership game in America, i'm there.....!

Danzig, you were right, the Dolphins are getting smacked again.

Maybe next time they should try and schedule a game that would be more enetertaining than a soccer match. Funny how outraged the crowd was when the Giants took a knee at the end.
