Default MIRACLE: Torre, Mattingly to LA

Some very reputable people are confirming(independently) that it's true.Mattingly's son is in the org.Just when I was 50/50 to kill myself (or kill a friend turned punk liar.) We have pitching, and Torre ain't had it for a while. We can't hit good pitching though.I am surprised he doesn't retire. He must want to go out another way.

He did his best managing with the Yankees in the 96 world series by far. He had a good team, but no where close to the teams he had recently. But with that team, he was able to play small ball if he needed to. They hit and ran and did the little things that the 2005,6,7 doesn't and can't do. They didn't send out 9 all stars that lived and died by the homerun. I think he will do just fine in the NL.

I just am thrilled to have this guy managing 2 power pitchers(Billingsley and PENNY)that have been without management the last 2 years.Trust me,fatboy Broxton has a ton of ability, but his mind is ****.He needs a grandpa to tell him everything is gunna be o.k. (if he just throws his best pitch for strikes.)"FATBOY,throw that heater,or join the girlscouts." We have had some quality pitchers the last 2 years. We have had nobody to manage them.Honeycutt was a barely mediocre 80's pitcher. What is that woman doing coaching power pitchers.Give me Guidry,or somebody who knows what it's like to dominate with heat.I'll tell ya what ain't gunna happen.Broxton will not throw 3 straight breaking balls to a slumping .230 hitter (like that smurf 2nd baseman of the Giants.) I mean on 0-2,he throws a hanging piece of crap(down the center and high) that this guy (past prime by 7 years) destroys. They should of fired the whole coaching staff on that day.

Scuds, Torre is not exactly known as a big pitching guy. He will kill your most effective reliver by dragging hm out there every day. (See Scott Proctor)
Maybe he will bring Mazzone in? I like the Dodgers to move up though they need to get rid of JP

He could marry you and you would be Anti Rod.

Going to agree with Cannon on this one....and I think Mazzone would be great to work on this upand down pitching staff!

Well,I see guys (who don't need any more money) come pitch for the guy.Pettite,Clemons,etc. We have a totally undisciplined sinkerballer(LOWE,)and a guy who blows his wad by the end of July each year(Penney.) We have a dynamite young starter in Billingsley. He blows the Pads away(and trust me the PADS get very excited to play the Dodgers.so,he has good stuff.) Then you got Broxton(a fat follower type,)and Loiza(another follower type.)People forget that Loiza couldn;t pitch worth a damn in 06 until the A's got hot in LATE JULY N' ALL OF AUGUST.Take a look and you'll see he was unbeatable....f'n wonderboy....f'n follower. He will pitch good if the team is doing good. So,that's 4 starters.I don't know about the 2 guys we got stiffed on when overpaying them to sit n' eat tacos.People get put in jail for smoking some various intoxicants, and these guys lie about their arms(and get away with it.)Especially Schmidt....How come these jocks gotta ride to make money, and these pitchers get paid whether they pitch,or not? Listen,we all got plusses n' minuses. There are some real huge disgusting a--holes that can sing like Angels. Why is it that fans gotta pay these guys who's arms get hurt? Also, why does somebody like Coletti have a job after both the starters he gave bank to were hurt early? Also, why does that idiot Cashman have a job? Wrong as he was about Lackey,Chuck S. could OUT-MANAGE these general managers (while overeating fine chow in N' Orleans.) The way I see it,managers can get a team to the playoffs,BUT AFTER THAT,they aren't going to get rings without witches. It's very rare to win a world series without atleast 1 witch starter. Now,tell me what witch starter TORRE has had lately?Penney and Billingsley have witch-potential.If somebody got into Broxton's head,he could be a man(there is talent in excess...just another talented a-- hole not using his skills.)Chuck, tell me what you do with a talent like that (with no courage.)You must of had a few good horses that were too scared or stupid to use their ability.I have no experience with it.I have only seen the opposite(egos so out of hand that it really would make you ill.)
