The 2nd Generation PRO V's just hit the shelves in the past couple weeks. All the "old" PRO V's were not allowed to be sold after Dec. 31. The difference between the "old" and the "new"...not a damn thing. The actual patent infringement stems back to the old Strata golf ball that Top Flite used to make....and when Callaway purchased the Top-Flite brand from Spalding, they of course inherited all their patents. The original PRO V came out not long after that Strata ball. The only difference in the PRO V's on the shelves today is the dozen box and sleeve box all have a little red or black circle on the side (Pro V1 have the black circle and Pro V1X have a red circle). The actual construction, material, core, etc...are all the same as they have been the last couple years. |

The Pro V's are good. I've always considered them the best. But have any of you played the Callaway Ix's? I highly recommend them, at least give them a look....

I played with the Callaway ix for about a month...and really liked them alot. But it's hard for me to switch. 12-18 free dozen PRO V1x a year tend to have that affect |
