Default 1/17: Santa Anita (4th-9th; Hi 5 C/O)

Funny day of racing across the country with mixed results and no scores of note. At Gulfstream, the Dania Beach favorite (Nordic Truce) came through that I tried to play against, and in the Marshua's River, a hard to embrace longshot (Quiet Harbor) jumped up to win. Gulfsteam overall has been difficult to navigate the last week.

Later at Santa Anita, the stakes were won by Conveyance (San Rafael-$2,60), Amen Hallelujah (Santa Ynez-$8.40) and Papa Clem (San Fernando-$5.00). The carryover sextet was seemingly on its' way to Chalkyville, when things turned tough in the late double with $18.00 Bella Roja (Best Value 2nd choice) and $26.20 Midnight Rage. That was enough to narrow the P6 tix down to a single play which took down the whole pot to the tune of $363,860.

Hope you did OK Saturday... I stuck with Santa Anita in case the carryover pot grew another day, and there is one ($47k) in the Super High 5...

SANTA ANITA

Deep edition of this La Canada Series companion race to the San Fernando, with Rick Dutrow and IEAH trying to win Arcadia stakes on back to back days (Amen Hallelujah/Santa Ynez).. McPeek pair (Dream Empress/Best Lass) look plenty possible at potentially plus pricing, and Bill Mott hopes he has West Point's Justwhistledixie back to 100% after a solid return in the Top Flight last.. Tough bunch to sift through..

Most Likely: #9 Justwhistledixie 3-1 4th

Next Best: #11 Spirit Seeker 4-1 5th

6: 3-7
7: 4-6
8: 3-7-8-9-11-12
9: 2-6-8

2x2x6x3 = $72

Good luck!
Steve

I am going to hear it about this pick but I like Stardom Bound today if she stays 3/1 or better.

Back to California for her preferred surface and 'trip'. I don't like Justwhistle first synthetic and that track is against her style.

Stardom Bound has the highest synthetic figure. She could be dangerous if the race starts off in 23 and 46 47ish or less

How does 9-5 sound? Being bet like iron considering the bulk of this field.

To me you bet against her until she proves she's either over her issue(s) or proves she's any kind of horse at all.

Tough luck w/ Will O Way, Steve. Always frustrating when you don't even get a chance to see if you were right.

Thx. Seemed to be moving too. Think she clipped heels with Dixie. She's a filly worth following.

She (Will O Way) got pretty screwed there. When I saw 2/1 opening, and then Gary Stevens talking on HRTV like she was the second coming, I decided to be lazy. She is pretty much done.

In other news, Congrats to CR Cono and Chris Paasch for the sale of the century....Can't remember exact amount she sold for but wasn't it +5million?

Whats Barry got that he gets these animals to over achive? He just seems like such a dork the way his horses drag him around in the paddock. It's really quite comical.

Thanks Dude I would have had to go 7 deep in the El Encino to catch pretty unusual I thought I had the right 4 in the race so i played a $48 pick 3 and $48 pick 4.So I'm beating myself up for using $96 dollars on two bets when If I went 8 deep in the 3RD leg I would have hit the pick 4 on a $96 dollar ticket LOL.Typical hind sight bullshit I like to do to myself for a few hours after I miss a nice score like this(Its fun to be me lol)...
