More rain in store for Friday. Look for the turf to have some give if you are handicapping early.

Mike, I don't know about you, but in the Suncoast, I don't like any of the gals coming out of The Gasparilla. They all looked like a bunch of drunken bums coming home down the lane. I think they will be overbet. None of the invaders even so much as show a work of the track.

I'm a huge fan of Spidawoman in this race. She debuted going 2 turns on turf in the Apple Charlottte race and looked pretty decent considering it was her debut. I'm not sure what she beat in breaking her maiden, but she raced wide the whole way and looked pretty professional in the lane. Stretching back out should pose no problem for her, she likes the sand, O'Connell is pretty damn good and I am becoming a bigger fan of Edgar Perez with each passing day. I think the price will be right too

If it's directed at Sightseek that's just foreplay from DrugS.

Look at Bigs' avatar of Charly as a foal - I wish I was that cute! I don't think he is a FREAK or anything and I certainly won't be betting him HEAVY, but he is an ok horse not trained and owned by the usual suspects and Tampa Bay is promoting him so people can follow him, which I think is fun.

(Just remember if you throw up in your mouth a little in reading this post, you were the one who asked!)

Isn't DrugS idea of foreplay asking for a $5 footlong with chips and a soda?

The Sam Davis is another sad reminder of the shambles that is this 3YO crop.

It could get worse... Baffert has had one die, and another one injured 60 days, Winslow Homer is out. Look at last year, Quality Road and I Want Revenge both getting hurt.

I would never - ever - EVAH! ask for a "soda"

People who ask for "soda" are likely to be both inbred and fans of Tim Tebow.

I was born in a "pop" state, but grew up in a "soda" area. Forgive me for my confusion!

You weren't confused. Pop is for those that have trouble with more than one syllable.

I agree that the crop doesn't look like much at this point, but do you really think the Sam Davis is that bad? For a G3 race in February, don't Rule and Uptowncharlybrown make it somewhat interesting? Isn't it possible that one of those two ends up being decent?
Throw in the Albertrani colt (who didn't run poorly in his first try routing), and a couple of longshots coming off of 2-turn victories over the track, and I actually think it is kind of an interesting race. But I suppose that might just be the result of me trying to get excited about a rather pedestrian group.

And just where do you think this year's Giacomo will emerge from? Polyfornia?
