Default 2/11: Gulfstream (6th-9th); Santa Anita ($78k C/O)

Brutal effort by single try Shabaab at 2-5 in the Gulfstream 7th Wednesday to quash the quad punt. In fact, the Pino-trained Shadwell runner barely contended before fading from a stalking slot at the eighth pole. The fave's failure boosted the P4 to $435 for the .50 variety, with even money Fawkes feature winner, a pair of 5-1's and overlaid Brassie Prince ($20.60) making up the sequence. Brassie Prince was a Best Value second choice and was the best find of the afternoon. Hope you did OK...

Thursday has a remarkably difficult P4 skein at Gulfstream followed by 2 excellent MSW's at Santa Anita (4th, 6th) which are part of a $77,800 P6 carryover. Gulfstream races 7-9 and SA 4-6 on ATR tonight live! If all of us can negotiate the 4 events at Hallandale, we should get paid. It's a crazy set of races with what should be some excellent betting opportunities. The SA P6 is made tougher by the 2 maiden races, the always tough downhill turf event that starts the sequence, and a cheap group in the nightcap... Enjoy!
