Sorry to not get the info out sooner, but it's been a very hectic weekend... Just back from tonight's session in fact.

Indeed, Dee Tee Stables purchased Hip #326 Saturday night, a strapping Thunder Gulch colt out of a Lord Avie (!) mare. He is an outright purchase that will be offered as a partnership horse. We were very lucky to be the first to reach the consignor to make a private purchase of this colt after he RNA'd.

Tonight, Hip #403 (Johannesburg) and #470 (City Zip) were colts purchased in 50-50 partnerships. The City Zip partner is Dr. Paul Giacopelli ('pgiaco') who bred the colt from his mare. He is named My Pal of Pals after Paul's son, and is the sister of Loyal Shadow in Gary's barn. The Johannesburg partner is a friend of Paul's.

We had designs on three other interesting prospects, but they soared to $75,000 and beyond to $105,000. Hip #401 was a beautiful and refined filly by Scat Daddy, and a Bernstein colt later in the evening, Hip #430, was very nice. Hip #466 was a robust Afleet Alex filly that fetched the six figures.

I will get photos of the trio before they leave for Virginia Monday. Gary and several interested parties around the sales grounds thought we did very well on the modest budget. I hope partners and prospective partners will be excited to see these three 2011 New York bred two year olds and get involved in their careers. More information forthcoming on Dee Tee NY-02, NY-03 and NY-04!

Good looking horses Steve, Good luck!

Thunder Gulch has a smart head.

Johannesburg has a hell of a neck.

it's what they used to put at the edge of maps when they didn't know what was beyond..and of course, the welsh symbol is the red dragon. always thought that phrase would make a good horse name.

Best of luck with Loyal Shadow in the stake. It seems like a reasonable spot to me with some good pace to set up the late kick. I will be there Thursday rooting for LS.

Colts traveled well and arrived safely at Woodbury Payne's farm on the DuPont Estate in Virginia. Will settle in for a couple days around barn and in stalls.

Thanks Paul,
I am trying to work out getting away from work to make the trip myself. Wishing the race was 7-10 days later, and the distance is a question, but it seemed like an ok place to take a shot for 100k.
