Default Louisiana Downs Super Derby Day Saturday Sept. 6

Will be HOT and muggy, so pay attention to how they look on track…
Not quite a Louisiana expert, but I'm always up for a big day.

Race 2:
#1 Peggy Joe: Her one turf race is the best of any in the field.

Race 5:
#3 No More Mystery: Tough spot to debut, but dam won her FTS at 6.5f and there are no world beaters here. Also question if others can get 7 panels. Worth a look on track.

Race 6:
#5 Serious Fun: Winner last time and can repeat, especially with the extra half furlong or so.
#3 It’ll Be Fine: Dangerous if he can get an easy lead.
#’s 1, 2, 4 also rate highly…tough race…

Race 7:
#3 Salute the C: Tough trip two back and needed his last. Will bounce back in this.
#1 Slowpoke Sam: Will get good position from the rail draw and should have no issues with the distance.
#2 Cook Some Rice: Finally hits a fast track after keeping open company and has a chance at a big price.
#7 Mr. L. S. Shoe: May get a similar, suitable pace scenario to the one he got in his only start.
Take a look at the FTS, #10 Sugar Creek Pal, on track. Chooses to run here and is bred to win young…

Race 8:
#11 Four of a Kind is SCR...
#12 Zelda Can Dance: Won big in the slop at Evangeline. Bred on the bottom to like turf even more.
#4 Know It All Anna: Dangerous if she runs like she did last time at SAR, but wary that this is just a shot for the sake of trying. On the fence.

Race 9:
#4 Sassy Kitten: KEE aside, every turf try has been good enough to win this.
#8 Malibu Yankee: Best on form and Amoss is firing on all cylinders this year.
#10 Blessed Immaculata is SCR...
#11 Miss Addison: Comes from the same barn and is the best of the locals from that form guide.
#5 Anahauc: Only turf try wasn’t that bad but unsure about the distance.

Race 10:
#7 Coalport: Figures to get a great trip and should simply be too good for these.
#5 String King: Can rate if a few to his outside go gung-ho. Logical in a straightforward race.

Race 11:
#6 Victory Nor Defeat: Unproven but has done nothing wrong to date. Tries two turns on the dirt for the first time and that should be right up his alley. May be too far back, but is enticing at good odds.
#1 Jessica’ Star: 7 lbs made the difference in the final furlong in Ohio. Has had a little hiccup in training and that is a bit of a concern.
#4 Vicar’s in Trouble: Still waiting for him to live up to his potential…
#5 Louisiana Flyboy: LA-bred foes have been no competition and has his chance to be competitive against the bigger guns. Needs a career best to win but can easily see him in the exotics.

Race 12:
#9 Sugar Creek Pal is SCR...
#’s 6, 8, 10, 12, 14 also with big chances in this crapshoot.

Race 13:
#11 Rossini’s Concerto: Should benefit from the added distance but may not work out a good trip from out there. Tough to pick a winner in this.
