ROI Results 5/12 @ Belmont
Not a lot of profit was made at Belmont Saturday and while 4 winning wagers were recorded
only one player showed a profit and only one player collected the points. Cruzan had a winning wager in race 8 and Indian Hemp hit a superfecta in the Man O War but neither player could reach the break even point. Real Quiet ecked out a small profit and takes the win and the points that go with it. Now for the why. Originally I posted my two $33 exacta's and a $34 show bet. Then a name caught my eye. In race 4 Sparky was running and for those who see me on Facebook Sparky is one of my two new kittens. I changed my show bet to $32 and put a deuce on Sparky. Since my winning exacta returned $99 Sparky's rally from the back of the pack gave me the win. Don you can have your Chocolate Martini's and Ruff can Meow Z all she wants and I'll give Sparky an extra treat tonight. The only downside is I have to share my virtual winnings with her but it keeps me still in sight of Runaway Ruffian on the year. Yeah....racing is still fun. Following are the unofficial results pending yet another brain cramp on my part. See you all next week at the Preakness. WIN... Real Quiet... +$9.40... Race 4 $2 Win 12 SPARKY... $10.40 Race 11 $11 ex key 7 w 2-5-8 $9.00 X 11... $99.00 Cruzan -$55.00 R8. 5 $25 Show $3.60 X 12.5... $45.00 Don Guido -$88.00 Indian Hemp -$88.95 Race 11 Dime Super Box 2, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10... $11.05 NJ Stinks -$94.00 Joly B -$96.00 Ruffian -$100.00 Roamin -$100.00 Plenilune -$100.00

RQ, congrats on your ROI win. After reading your explanation of success and remembering the huge Pick 5 payoff on Derby Day that needed Funny Duck for the payoff, I realize that my methods just don't cut it. I'm tempted to discard my library of handicapping books, throw out the markers I use to mark up the PP's, and consign the DRF to the kindling pile. Would you recommend that I try a Ouija board or would darts be more effective?
