Default Covid-19 Very good in depth report, please read

This is a very detailed and comprehensive report on the virus and why it's an immune system problem. Long read but very well worth it. It discusses many aspects of the virus. Taken from "The Atlantic" and shared on "Apple News".

Hi Don, I read this report. Very informative but it left out one thing. I have been smoking for just about 70 years. The way I see it is the virus don't get into my lung because of the lining is loaded with tar and nicotine. Virus don't want that, the virus wants lungs that are clean to start with which are clean and vunerable. I know it sounds weird but that's my thinking, so I will keep on smoking and stay virus free. So light up and live, lol

Hmmmm, Roamin. Been smoke free all my 73 yrs so way to late to pick up a habit like that. That is an interesting slant on the topic though. Not pointed at you but there is saying "if one thing don't get ya, the other one will". Take care and be safe while your'e keeping those lungs a scary place for the virus to land.

Hi Don, after reaching the ripe age of 78 I am a realist. How much longer do I want to live. I really enjoy smoking and it hasn't hurt me in any way. I lived a happy life and when ever the man above wants my services I'll make sure I will bring up a pack of butts.

I think I've had just about every vice known to man at one time or another. I've done my share of smoking, drinking, and overeating, but eventually quit most of them for health reasons. Now the only ones left to me are cussing and gambling. I sort of cherish these last acts of rebellion. I probably would have been a womanizer too had I been better looking, but still I had plenty of opportunities for that, but I played relationships with the opposite sex about like I play horses which is to say, not too well.

I saw an article this morning about Tyson Foods saying they had to shut down some of the meat processing plants and some other companies had to do the same. As a lifelong carnivore(or omnivore to be more accurate), I hope we are not about to enter into a time where it becomes impossible to get a little hamburger and other meat products sort of like the well known shortage of toilet paper and other paper products. Things just get a little crazier day be day.

Cal828, never have to worry about hamburgers, there is always WHITE CASTLE. As far as every vice I been there and done that also. Even 4 marriages, now that might be why I love smoking so much. Needed many breaks.

I guess I was lucky in the marriage department. Only did it once and that proved to be enough. Have two lovely children and that turned out good also. They are good persons without a mean bone in either of their bodies. All though we have a crisis or two occasionally, we seem to work it out eventually and life goes on. At 75 and in my hermit status, I doubt that I will ever have the opportunity for matrimony again, but that's ok. Been there and done that as they say. Also, that is a thing that you just can't force and expect it to turn out well. It either happens or it doesn't, which is to say, I think I have been awfully lucky and I know more often than not, things don't turn out as good for a lot of people, but that is the stuff that life is made of, it is just not a perfect situation hardly ever.
