Venue for August 28
It's Travers Day, so of course we are going to Saratoga to play what appears to be a blockbuster card. What a couple of the races lack in size they more than make up for in quality of contestants.
The first race has a post of 11:35 AM Eastern. Let's do the first 12 races and finish with the Travers, which is Race 12. That will run at 6:12 PM. I think we can do without race 13. 6 3/4 hours of racing ought to satisfy everyone. |

Would You Maybe Consider ELIMINATE RACE 1 ( 2 yr MD )
~~~~~ So Our Post Time is Not As Early THE REASON WHY I AM 2 HOURS EARLIER ITS NOT THE POINTS CONTEST THAT IS ISSUE ITS ROI BECAUSE YOU DO NOT PERMIT ALTS (Sure Wish U Would) SO HAVE TO GET UP EVEN EARLIER TO CHECK SCRATCHES THEN, IF YES HAVE TO RE-POST THE CHANGES Last edited by RUFFIAN : 08-26-2021 at 10:10 AM. |
As much as it pains me to say it, I agree with Rolfian.
I am very reluctant to substitute race 13 for race 1. The finale appears to be just a race to run while much of the crowd is leaving the track, to keep everyone from leaving at the same time. The drop off in quality from the Travers to a very weak looking field of NYB maiden claimers doesn't seem like the best way to finish our contest. Let's end it on a high note with race 12.
However, I can see your point about starting too early, especially with a race that could have a completely different field if it gets taken off of the turf. I think we could have a very enjoyable contest without it. Let's do the following: We'll start with race 2 and finish with race 12. That gives us 11 races to wrestle with, and for those who like to play multi race ROI wagers, NYRA has added additional pick 4's and 5's. They have even made sure that the Pick 6 and the Grand Slam end with race 12. Post time for Race 2 is 12:08 PM, so get tied on. BTW, Race 12 should go off at 6:12. |
