Hawthorne 12/28
With the free TG charts, I figured I'd go ahead and cap tomorrow's card and post some picks here -- mostly for public ridicule and a good laugh if I fail miserably! It looks like a wide open card for the most part, so I took a couple of shots at a few prices. I'll keep it updated tomorrow -- would be interested to see what others capping Hawthorne came up with.
Race 1: 1. Dr. Nicole 5-2 WON ($2.80, $2.20, $2.10) 2. Trick of the South 5-1 3. She's the Berries 7-2 3RD ($2.80) 4. Count Sheep 8-1 4TH Race 2: 1. Seeyouinnewyork 9-2 WON ($14.00, $5.60, $3.80) 2. Brian, you're a brave soul in my opinion to handicap a Hawthorne card. I can never get a sniff there. Probably cause I don't follow it very close,
anyway, Good Luck! |

the feature 8th looks real tough brian. garesche ran huge off the pine last time and is the obvious class of the field, if he improves at all off his last mighty tough. theres about5or 6 in there witha shot

i ended up with royko because i was just looking for a horse who had a chance to improve enough to win at a price. garesche certainly looks real tough right back after the big layoff -- though i did notice (if i recall right from looking last night), that he ran a pretty big one after his LAST big layoff and second off the bench he just paired it up, so I decided that he is going to take a good deal of action, which I don't like when I imagine he will likely just run back to his last race instead of improving. If he improves -- he's your winner; I'm just banking against it! |

lol royko i like him, nice horse. early on in his career he burned up some of my money but this past july he made it all up with a nice score for me. just can see him winning it tho today. i think the improving horses in the field are the 2 outside ones |

I like the 7th race:
Sole of the Rat. A medium sized win bet and a small exacta box with Summer Gerbil. |

And how can you not go with a horse named Royko in Chicago?

All in all, not a bad day at all for a track that is as unpredictable as Hawthorne is in the winter!
Fell apart a bit in the late races, but the trifecta on Race 2 and the overlaid exacta on Race 7 would have made it a profitable day...had I actually been playing it I'll be back later tonight with some picks for tomorrow, and I'm just going to keep hoping that I'll have a good day Sunday when I'm actually playing it! |

LOL i dont need my own horn tooted or nothin but i think my picks did a little better, and i used only two per race. playin 4 horses per race on multirace wagers gets expensive
