One glaring ommission from this blog is that the fed is profitting from the MBS it is buying. Oh...those silly details.:)

There is no assumption of profit till it is realized. Who are the buyers of all these MBS going to be?

The average yield is 4.5% and they are currently lending at close to zero. The fed is already making a profit if the default rate is low. Believe me...the default rate on these will be next to nothing. FHA is a different story.
