Rosario's stats:
With Vic as agent: All races: 359-for-1,917 (18.7% wins) $1.90 ROI Sprints: 222-for-1,170 $1.84 ROI Routes: 137-for-747 $1.99 ROI Stakes: 36-for-243 $2.07 ROI Before having Vic as agent: All races: 339-for-2,335 (14.5% wins) $2.14 ROI Sprints: 211-for-1,470 $2.12 ROI Routes: 128-for-865 $2.18 ROI Stakes: 15-for-149 $1.49 ROI I think it's pretty clear that his reputation as a rider improved quite a bit when Vic had his book .... his betting value numbers came down to earth somewhat, but that figured to happen as his name became bigger. Did he get better as a jockey over that time? No, I don't think so. Still - his reputation and quantity of live mounts improved .. and that's all any rider cares about. I guess it must have annoyed him that he had to share an agent with another young rider like Garcia. Hard to feel Vic's pain because he's still got a competent young rider in Garcia .. but Garcia isn't the talent Rosario always was. |

The odd thing about Martin Garcia's numbers is how much he struggles on the turf.
He's just 1-for-42 in turf races this year. In turf routes over the last two years - he's 7-for-132 with an ROI of $0.50. He's in his 6th year of riding now - and only once has he ever won at a 10% or better clip in turf routes .. that was in 2006 when he went 19-for-160 with a very poor $1.48 ROI. For his entire career in turf routes he's 47-for-540 with a $1.15 ROI He's fine in all the other categories. |

A little bit more of the story:

1) "He's the best young rider I've seen," Ebanks said. "The sky's the limit."
2) Michael Baze said he would ride out the Santa Anita meet, then head to Arlington where he will be represented by agent Jay Fedor, who currently handles Corey Nakatani. 3) Tyler Baze, whose ties were severed by Ebanks when he took Rosario, reportedly was set to decide on a new agent shortly. ****************************************** 1) WTF is everybody smoking? Ebanks must be nearsighted. 2/3) Can you imagine was it must've of been like handling book for not ONE but TWO Bazes? I mean, Southern CAL probably leads the country in RETARDENESS in the jock colony and Tyler and Michael are a big part of this (with Espinoza, whether on or off his meds, who is the preemminent ****** riding presently). It's impossible trying to figure out what these idiots are liable to do any any given point in a race. I mean, you can never assume that they'll do what's expected. Baby sitting two of them must've scarred Ebanks for life. And, I'm sure Ebanks spent many a long 'film' session discussing setups with them, as indicated by the way they ride. (ha ha ha ) much ado about nothing Give me Kayla Stra, and a couple of weeks to work those premature tendencies out of her, and she could ride with any of these idiots. Of course, teaching jocks how to 'ride' is not part of the agent's job so what's the issue when a jock switches agents? |

Unless there is a LOT more to this story than meets the eye, that seems pretty cold. |

I also do think coming east is part of the equation, if not now then in the near future and Ebanks probably mentioned that Vic has no desire to come east and probably doesn't have the connections that he would (like I said just a guess on my part). Reguardless, it's a tough blow for Vic and I feel bad for him. But like someone said, it's buisness and unfortunately sometimes a cruel buisness.
