HOL trims stakes purses; Rosario's book to Ebanks
Hollywood Park, in an effort to protect overnight purses, has responded to the declining economy by shafting its stakes calendar for the spring/summer meet, which opens the week of April 24.
The $5.8-million stakes schedule, is down from $8 million last year. http://www.bloodhorse.com/horse-racing/articles/55771/gold-cup-to-highlight-hollywood-meeting/print Last edited by Alan07 : 03-10-2010 at 02:09 PM. |

Listening to some small-time horse owner's advice regarding where a successful, meet leading jockey should hang his tack is like a trainer with a top class mare poised to give Zenyatta a run for her money listening to some jock agent's suggestion to run against stakes colts at distance beyond her scope instead. |
