Thanks, Steve, for shining spotlight on Delta Downs this week. I started attending in 2006 to support their recovery from Hurricane Rita devastation. Nine years removed from storm, this place and its people have triumphed!

Enjoyed interviews & discussions with Don, Mary & Ed. Sorry NTamm was absent this week.

Continue your excellent work. Next year get away from snow and join us. Jackpot Barbie has nice ring!

Just curious.....

Is there some kind of qualifying for the Delta Jackpot?

Only 10 can run, but with a $1M purse, way more than 10 are going to be "interested".

How are the final 10 determined?

First preference goes to Golden Actor for winning the prep, the Jean Laffite; 2nd preference to horses 1-2-3 in G1 or G2 races; 3rd preference to horses that were in the money in any graded stake; 4th determinant is lifetime earnings.

Thanks Steve. I knew there had to be some kind of qualifying for the race but I hadn't seen it spelled out anywhere.

Much appreciated!
