Been member/participant here for years. One of the few times that I attempt public display of selections. This is one of my favorite days of racing each year as I live about 2-1/2 hours away. Attending my 8th Jackpot this afternoon.

Rain is expected toward end of card. So, Jackpot should remain dry.

As former Pace Figures user, I use TimeformUS figures as significant factor in my handicapping. My strongest (and possibly wrongest) opinion is the Race 6 Delta Princess is chaos race. Half of this field appears to be 'need to lead' type fillies. I like chances of Miss Mandate and cast of closers.

Hope everyone does well today!

Great job on handicapping the stakes, especially R2 w/ #4 D'cajun Cat.

Thanks. Had great time there yesterday. We departed after Jackpot so we missed rain.

Yes, D'cajun Cat with G-Money (Gerald Melancon) aboard was nice P3 kickoff. As betting card, it was less than stellar one. Racing was super! Most winners stalked to backstretch, started move in mid-backstretch, and struck in or exiting final turn.

Ocho Ocho Ocho and Mr. Z were clearly best in Jackpot. Take Charge Brandi proved that BC Juv Fillies wasn't fluke. Very impressive how she repelled Vivian Da Bling and controlled entire race. Yahilwa won Treasure Chest with sweeping move from 3 lengths behind to over 2 lengths clear in 660 ft stretch. Sunbean, the hometown hero, didn't disappoint his local following. Too bad scratches may derail Delta Mile getting Grade 3 next season.

Take Charge Brandi and Ocho Ocho Ocho should mature and run well as 3YOs. Already looking forward to 2015 return to Vinton.

I thought that Far Right's effort, though running 3rd, was arguably on par if not the best horse in the race. That said, I'm not convinced that the race was particularly strong, nor whether he has the class to move forward off that effort and make any noise on the 3yo scene, but was impressed with the gutty run he put in.
To that end, I thought Lanerie did the horse an astonishing disservice by over-reacting when OOO came over in the turn and felt the dismissal of the objection + inquiry was the correct call.

Very nice call on D'cajun Cat by the way -
