“We don’t like doctors prescribing or directing patients to taking therapies they’re making money on,” said Laurie Zoloth a professor of bioethics at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine.

But, it’s not “inherently wrong” for doctors to be involved in this burgeoning field, she said.

Their medical knowledge could be useful.

“It’s not a bad thing for doctors to be involved . . . you just want it to be separated,” Zoloth said.
