Default Germanwing A320 Crash and Developments

Most have probably read about the horrific crash of a Lufthansa subsidiery (Germanwings A320) on Tuesday in the French Alps. But the news coming out this morning is incredible...The link below is from Flyer Talk Forums and the thread concerning this. It is quite lengthy but it should populate to the press conference today and the initial revelation that the co-pilot locked the Captain out of the cockpit and crashed the plane purposefully.

I only hope that it doesn't come out that the co-pilot recently converted to Islam. I worked my whole life in the mental health field and I understand suicidal ideation but I can't wrap my mind around mass murder. There are a lot of questions that need answering here...hopefully time will bring clarity.

There's been about 9 crashes since the 60's that were suicide-related.

And a few of those are debatable.

Rumor is the pilot had a fb page that was scrubbed immediately after the crash happened.

And when checked on the wayback machine it's a dead link.

Probably just a coincidence.

I haven't read through the other content posted, but there were "stories" of incidents with this Pilot-Co-Pilot Team on the in bound of this flight in that FT Thread I had posted. Haven't heard more about that.

And how do you "breath normally" no matter whether it is your intent or not as you head into a mountain at 500MPH. You would think if it was terrorist he would have made a proclamation before hitting and if it was suicide, crying or SOMETHING.

I agree, the "normal" breathing seems weird to me.

It gets weirder...

http://money.cnn.com/2014/03/31/news...strike/?iid=EL

Quote:
German airline Lufthansa canceled about 3,800 flights scheduled for Wednesday, Thursday and Friday because of a planned pilot strike.

Those cancellations will disrupt travel for 425,000 passengers who planned to fly on Lufthansa on April 2-4, mostly on flights that were to come in or out of airports in Frankfurt and Munich.

Lufthansa flies into 17 airports in the United States and has canceled 134 flights to and from those locations during the three-day strike.
