You have to figure that one of the Baffert's are going to have to rate in the Derby and I think Dortmund can rate. He is going to be a serious contender in the Derby IMO.
He showed last year in his first two starts he doesn't need the lead. Unless he draws 1 or 2 I can't see him gunning it.

I agree, he has shown the ability to rate, feel like his last two wins have been about dynamics, not that he is a need the lead horse.

Damn, didn't think that horse could stretch out like that, nice aggressive ride by Talamo.

Point & knicks, don't mean to belittle you, but as you guys are great 'cappers just want to ask your view about the worktab and how much emphasis you guys place on it? You both loved the 1 at SA but she missed a full month of recorded works between her last two so I couldn't even really consider her, especially when the stablemate hadn't missed a single one. Was there another reason you guys really liked her?

I honestly missed that. For me I liked her one turf effort which I thought was against a comparable field to what she faced today and felt that if Hollendorfer gave her a shot in a Grade 1 on dirt that he must really think a lot of her. Looking back now I see that she was even a vet scratch on March 7 which makes missing the workout gap even worse.

Thanks guys. Like I said, didn't want to look down on you, just wanted to see if there was another angle that maybe I didn't see or don't use that I could look for next time!

The criticism of the pick is fair, I should have seen that.

SA 10

I know there is a lot of speed in here and the 6 has won on the lead, but feel that the horse stacks up well against this field, has run well from mid-pack in the past and is a crazy price at 44-1. I don't get the money on the 1 other than the miracles the trainer seems to produce.

$20W 6
$5EXB 6,10
$2TRIB 6,10,13

Kitan I must admit I missed that too. Happens when there are a lot of races to look at in a day and I do not pay as much attention to works as I probably should. I thought this field was pretty even and I liked that last turf win and figured the distance would be fine. The odds were more then generous in my opinion and I do like Hollendofer.
