Default Kentuckian

I was talking to somebody today who told me about his latest workout. They got him behind two other horses and he got some kickback on him and he swung out and went right by both of them. They said Jerry is looking at a stake and has not put the Preakness out. They like the horse very much.

Yeah, that horse looks like a super freak.

His debut reminded me a lot of his grand sires maiden win, cees tizzy, and I thought he had as much raw talent as almost any horse I've ever seen.

His final start, in the super derby, was one of the most impossible performances I've ever seen.

That debut was awesome. Hopefully he has a much longer career than his highly celebrated half brother.

Looking at his siblings, it ain't looking good.

2009 giants causeway never raced, nor was it apparently even named.

2010 street cry sold for 1.2 million as a yearling. Two years later was at a horse rescue.

The 2008 distorted humor ran the fastest debut bsf ever and never ran again.

Didn't know all that, good info, will ask. However, with what you said, you've got to think there was something there in that family. People don't pay THAT much for a horse that isn't almost perfect. Also, breaking a TR in a maiden is totally impressive. I've owned horses for years. Stuff happens to them, sometimes through no fault of their own. They can take a bad step and be done.

The connections are very high on this one. I'd rather not say how and why I know. I think that they think he's a freak. I think it's just a matter of keeping the freak healthy and on the track.

Good insights. We'll see.

No doubt about him being a freak. I'd be ecstatic if I owned him.

I believe his dam broke her maiden by about twenty lengths as well and was rushed right into the breeders cup against halfbridled. Maybe I'm thinking of someone else, but I don't believe so.

Her first foal, macleans music, won big in his only start, going something like 1:14 for 6.5, earning a 114 Beyer. You can watch that on YouTube. I think this one of as more impressive.

Without saying too much, I'm more of a pedigree guy. I have asked and it's been more about that horse. I have a decent "eye" for horses, but not the best, otherwise I'd have about 8 KY Derby winners.

They like this horse.

I do have some stakes wins, but never a graded stakes. Not angry, but hoping it may happen. The horse will make it happen, not the owner or the trainer.

I was at Laurel the day she broke her maiden. Extremely impressive, but owned by morons. Had she been managed better, she could have easily been a millionaire. Big beautiful filly with speed to burn. I'm not surprised she produces nice horses.

Awesome win today in the 7f Laz Barrera at SA. Stalked the wicked pace while 3wide and hit the timer in 1:20 97. Owner Rick Porter in winners circle after the race when asked by Millie Ball if Woody Stephens on Belmont day is next, said Jerry Hollendorfer wants to stretch him out. I for one would love to see a Kentuckian, Competitive Edge battle on Belmont Day..

That's a scary thought. In his last race he was kind of green. He had his head up and was looking around. Never grabbed the bit. Today he did.

I'm a sucker for a good Tiznow 3yo, I'll admit that, but I don't think my bias is building him up too much. Kentuckian looks like he's got the goods. Certainly has the connections to get every opportunity without being asked to do something he shouldn't be doing yet. How tall is he? I assumed the Unbridled's Song of his pedigree has made him on the bigger side, but I wasn't sure it wasn't an optical illusion. Loved the call referring to Kentuckian and the beginning of his move in the Laz Barrera as ominous. He's really a grey storm cloud of a horse.
