you said he was the fastest skater in "the world", your data shows he's the fastest, MPH standpoint, in the league. 2nd, there have been a lot of really really fast skaters in the NHL who couldn't to d!ck with the puck, i'm not saying he's one of them, but let's just say i don't get too worked up when Carl Hagelin is coming down the wing as i would if say it was Rick Nash, or hell even Brassard.
as far as the Kreider comment, i would venture a small wager that Stamkos is a faster skater then him

Good thing it's a small wager because you'd lose and it wouldn't be close. Stamkos is great, but end-to-end Kreider is easily faster than him. He routinely starts after an outlet pass several strides behind a defender (and not a backpedaling one) and ends up with a breakaway. Never once seen Stamkos do that.

so he passes your eye test and that's what dictates the result?
as far as his out skating defenders, that's what all forwards should be able to do, and who's to say that defender isn't michael rozsvial?

for what its worth, i'd rather take east to west speed with the puck then end to end, and the reasons should be fairly obvious

It's not a debate, man. You wouldn't find one person in the NHL who would say Stamkos is faster than Kreider.

I have nothing but respect for Stamkos, but the statement that the Rangers have "no answer for Tampa's speed" despite us having the two fastest players on the ice (and Nash ain't exactly slow) is just laughable.

Speed wont be the Rangers downfall, they have plenty of it.

FWIW: My boss, golfs at the same club as Craig Berube (ex flyers coach), he asked him who he likes. Berube mentioned that the 4 fastest teams in the league are the 4 that are still playing. Coincidence? As far as who he liked, he picked the Rangers for one reason, Lundqvist.

i don't know how you're collectively speaking for the entire NHLPA here, i get the point you're trying to make, but this IS a debate, your supporting facts are what YOU believe to be true, there's no evidence beyond that.

and for the record i didn't say anything about TB's speed, what i will say is that it's going to be fun to watch them try and keep up with their youth......that not many can argue

as far as "the chief" is concerned i stopped listening to that guy once he became a turncoat and basically said there's no room in hockey for fighters anymore, ironic

How exactly does having 2 fast skaters answer the fact that this team couldn't shut down Tampa all season, regardless of what point in time that may have been?

Saying that you "have fast skaters too" as an answer as to you are going to control Tampa's speed is laughable. The Lightning were down 3 starting defense at most points during that stretch, and still managed to keep the Rangers impotent.

Good Luck Joey, ought to be an enjoyable series
