Default 9/5: Saratoga (Day 38; Woodward/Spinaway); Del Mar (6th-11th)

SARATOGA

POST-SCRATCHES

P5 Grid:

1: 1-7 (A), 2-3-5-6 (B), - (C)
2: 9 (A), 8 (B), 1-3-7 (C)
3: 1 (A), 4-6 (B), 2-3-5 (C)
4: 3-11 (A), - (B), 5-9 (C)
5: 6-7 (A), - (B), 3-8 (C)

Simple (A+B): 6x2x3x2x2 = 144 x .50 = $72

P4 Grid:

2: 9 (A), 7-8 (B), 1-3 (C)
3: 1 (A), 4-6 (B), 2-3-5 (C)
4: 3-11 (A), 5-9 (B), - (C)
5: 6-7 (A), 3-8 (B), 1-2-4-9 (C)

Simple (A+B): 3x3x4x4 = 144 x .50 = $72

6th: ALW/N1X, 3yo, 8.5f-T (P3, DD)

Best Value: #7 Gustnando 8-1 5th
Next Best: #1 Tale of Life 8-5 4th-DQ'd from WIN
Exotics Use: #4 Conquest Panthera 4-1 6th
Super Add: #3 Rock Eagle 12-1 3rd

7th: MSW, 2yo, 7f (P6, DD)

With meet ending and Churchill looming, Dallas Stewart's team ships Spikes Shirl to Saratoga from Louisville? Has to be ready for good debut..

Most Likely: #6 Spikes Shirl 4-1 10th
Next Best: #3 Silvertown 7-2 2nd
Best Value: #4 Parting Gift 12-1 7th
Exotics Use: #10 Clear the Mine 3-1 5th

8th: 108th Saranac (G3), 3yo, 9f-T (G/S, P3, DD)

Given slickness of turf courses, you better be on or near the lead and Repole homebred Nonna's Boy (8-1) is guaranteed to clear despite the launch from the #8. Legit wire threat at bonus number. Go Around and Takeover Target are the obvious heavyweights here, but note Winter Springs getting services of Castellano out of US debut in the Hall of Fame where Leparoux had him far back and wide. Terrific edition of this long-running standard..

Best Value: #8 Nonna's Boy 8-1 4th
Next Best: #5 Go Around 7-2 3rd
Exotics Use: #3 Takeover Target 8-5 6th
Super Add: #4 Winter Springs 10-1 5th

9th: 124th Spinaway (G1), 2yo-F, 7f (P4, P3, DD)

Exceptional group of baby girls for this. With Tonasah doffing hood, Constellation figures to be your pace-setter and may very well lead them all the way around. Remember that Rachel's Valentina was off slowly in her debut, so she doesn't necessarily have to rally to be involved. Also recognize that Nickname (like Constellation, owned by LNJ Foxwoods) exited Rachel's Valentina race with dominant graduation earlier this week..

Most Likely: #5 Constellation 3-1 3rd
Next Best: #2 Rachel's Valentina 5-2 WON ($5.50)
Best Value: #6 Banree 8-1 6th
Exotics Use: #1 Tap to It 7-2 2nd

10th: 62nd Woodward (G1), 3+, 9f (P3, DD)

Utterly confounding edition of this upstate season-ender for the handicap horses. Pletcher quartet look like they will run early in front (Liam's Map), 3rd-5th (Coach Inge & Protonico) and 7th/8th (My Lute) and all are eligible for pay slots or to even make up the entire super. Jerkens sends Effinex and Wicked Strong with the state bred Effinex having bypassed the Whitney for this assignment out of his thrilling Suburban win over Tonalist. Commanding Curve and Bay of Plenty round out the octet. Everyone appears to be lining up against Liam's Map, who was as courageous as a horse can be in the heartbreaking Whitney beat at the hands of Honor Code, but the Unbridled's Song colt appears to be maintaining form per DRF's Vesce & Welsch..

Most Likely: #7 Effinex 4-1 4th
Next Best: #2 Liam's Map 6-5 WON ($4.40)
Best Value: #5 My Lute 15-1 5th
Exotics Use: #1 Wicked Strong 5-1 3rd

11th: 20th Glens Falls (G3), F&M-3+, 11f-IT (DD)

Presence of Proctor's Ceisteach would appear to assure that Goldy Espony isn't allowed to completely dawdle up front. MGSP NY-bred Maximova (15-1) an intriguing presence saving ground inside..

Most Likely: #9 Regardez 4-1 3rd
Best Value: #4 Ceisteach 6-1 7th
Next Best: #6 Goldy Espony 2-1 9th
Exotics Use: #1 Maximova 15-1 6th

12th: OC/N2X, 3+, 8.5f-T

Most Likely: #2 Take the Stand 5-1 WON ($9.80)
Best Value: #1a Revolt 5-1 8th
Next Best: #10 With Exultation 7-2 9th
Exotics Use: #8 Front 4-1 8th

P4 Grid:

9: 5 (A), 2-6 (B), 1-3-4 (C)
10: 7 (A), 2-5 (B), 1-6-8 (C)
11: 4-9 (A), 1-6 (B), 3-7 (C)
12: 1-2 (A), 8-10 (B), 3-11-12-13 (C)

Simple (A+B): 3x3x4x4 = 144 x .50 = $72

Exotics Use: #5 Mr Notorious 12-1 9th
Super Add: #3 Hollywood Don 4-1 WON ($10.60)

Most Likely: #5 New Summit 9-2 3rd
Best Value: #4 Well Measured 5-1 WON ($20.20)
Next Best: #6 Rockport Kat 7-2 -
Exotics Use: #1 Rockinatten 5-1 4th
Super Add: #11 Tannersmymuscle 12-1 -

8th: ALW/N1X, F&M-3+, 1m-T (P4, P3, DD)

Most Likely: #5 Tiz a Kiss 3-1 -
Next Best: #9 Circling 4-1 2nd
Best Value: #1 Artisticdifference 8-1 3rd
Exotics Use: #2 Frandontjudge 7-2 -

9th: 65th DMR Debutante (G1), 2yo-F, 7f (P3, DD)

Bigger field than the Spinaway and at least a half dozen of these look like real runners..

Most Likely: #3 Pretty N Cool 2-1 2nd
Next Best: #11 Songbird 5-2 WON ($4.20)
Best Value: #4 Land Over Sea 15-1 3rd
Exotics Use: #2 Come to Mischief 8-1 -

Next Best: #5 Atomic Rule 6-1 2nd
Best Value: #7 Alex Rossi 12-1 -
Exotics Use: #1 Unusual Taste 6-1 -

11th: CLM/N2L, 3+, 6f (Super Hi-5)

Most Likely: #10 Wicker Man 9-2 -
Best Value: #6 Cougar Country 8-1 3rd
Next Best: #5 Ain't Misbehavin 5-1 5th
Exotics Use: #7 Formally Wild 7-2 2nd
Hi-5 Play: #4 Indian Assault 20-1 -

P4 Grid:

8: 5-9 (A), 1 (B), 2 (C)
9: 3-11 (A), 2-4 (B), - (C)
10: 4-5 (A), 1-7 (B), 2-8 (C)
11: 10 (A), 5-6 (B), 4-7 (C)

Good luck!
Steve

Thanks.. I'd have done more with Periscope here this summer but you often can't get a strong enough wifi signal to broadcast.
