![]() I am toying with the idea of moving to the Hot Springs area for the golf and the racing. On the surface the area looks great for activities and climate. This would likely be my last move since I am retired.
Anyone care to share their opinion? Thanks!

![]() i live a couple hours south.
if you like the outdoors, arkansas is a great place to move. plenty of outdoor activities. lots of lakes, rivers, golf courses, etc. the downside? summers here get downright miserable. high humidity. keep in mind tho, the racing is from jan to april, and that's it for arkansas. but, there is racing south of here, in la. or northeast to ky. you might actually be better off moving to ky! |

![]() A friend I've know for several years retired here and is loving it.......he's no horseplayer but he is a golfer..............
Hot Springs Village, Arkansas is America's Largest Gated Community! "The Village" offers 9 golf courses, 12 lakes, 3 seasonal outdoor swimming pools, an indoor pool and fitness center that includes an indoor walking track, 16 tennis courts, 2 country clubs, and over 20 miles of nature trails. All of these things make Hot Springs Village the perfect place for you to come play, or stay for a lifetime. The track can't be beat but as mentioned before..............the summers can get quite 'sticky'.........

![]() Living in NE Georgia now, I can handle sticky. Winters look to be similar, so I guess I am drawn to Oaklawn and the simulcast opportunities as something to do when golf is not possible.
I was at OP for the Festival of Racing when Valhol got buzzed and Patin got some big time coverage on ESPN. What I loved was that everyone in the hotel had their DRF's out for breakfast, and everyone was so nice! OP seems like the Wrigley Field of racing to me. Hard not to like the place!
