Old Friends loses barn in fire; no injuries to horses or staff
https://twitter.com/Oldfriendsfarm Pictures and info on their feed, but basically it was the hospital/quarantine barn and it caught fire this morning. A firefighter was injured but no horses or Old Friends staff. I think it's safe to assume they wouldn't turn down money if anybody offered to donate to help with the cost of replacing it.** It's a total loss as you can tell from the charred earth in the picture.
ETA: http://www.bloodhorse.com/horse-raci...troyed-by-fire Apparently a couple horses were in there at the time but were gotten out quickly. Phfew. Wonder which ones. Geez Michael and Claiborne are competing for who's having the roughest start to 2016, aren't they? Update: **A GoFundMe page has been set up** https://www.gofundme.com/xbkyvrqs Last edited by Merlinsky : 01-23-2016 at 06:46 PM. |

I was afraid to click on this. Glad there were no losses.

Yeah that's why I figured I better put the 'nobody hurt' part in the thread title because if I'd gone to Bloodhorse first instead of seeing it on Old Friends' Twitter, I'd have expected to hear about dead horses just from the info that there'd been a fire.

"James and Tammy Crump arrived to tend to the horses shortly before the barn became fully engulfed. James rescued Archie's Echo and Alphabet Soup, who were in stalls in the barn when the fire broke out. Tammy pulled a propane tank stored in the barn out of range of the blaze and ran to Blowen's house." A horrible disaster was averted thanks to James and Tammy's quick action. Kudos to them. |

Yeah, you can see the whole title when you go to the paddock, but i saw it from the forum home page, so only saw the first part. Thank goodness all are well.
