LIVINGSTON: Springsteel, from Rockingham to Old Friends
http://www.drf.com/blogs/springsteel-and-moving-history
Tweeted this yesterday but wanted to make sure everyone saw it: Don't miss this wonderful photo essay by Barbara about the remarkable interment relocation of Depression-era stalwart Springsteel from The Rock to Old Friends..

Great story. I thought I remembered bits and pieces of why the stone was out there. Wasn't really visible from the track, so most people never even knew about its existence.
Although I drive past the Rock regularly I truly didn't reminisce until reading this piece. Brought back lots of memories of that track, some good, some sad. Horses and jockeys that I got to know from being there a ton. Eyes filled up thinking about them. Thanks for sharing Steve.
