![]() What day are you arriving Max? Derby Night you will be lucky to get to a restaurant by 8:30. Bardstown Rd and St. Matthews on the east side of Louisville have a lot of dining options. I would suggest a brunch or lunch on Saturday.

![]() I highly recommend Pat's Steak House. Fabulous food in a racing atmosphere and lots of horsemen are regulars. Bristol Café has a couple of locations and the food is reasonably-priced and terrific.

![]() Jack Fry's & Pat's (as suggested above by Monarchos) for your steak/chop pleasure..
Here's some choices that are more known to locals.. Will add more as I think of them and when I get a chance. Cottage Inn, as introduced by Chuck Simon, is a personal fave with the Wed/Sun all-you-can-eat fried chicken specials and every other Southern style plates you might like. Marty McGee slaughters the frog legs there with me annually.. Nice pies for desert, but I frequently head across the street to neighborhood institution Dairy Kastle. Suburban Social Club Fish Fry is a gem in the shadow of the Downs that is the best kept secret in The Ville. Saturdays only for 'Green River style' fried fish by the pound or as a sandwich. It is the best fish fry I've ever had and I've had plenty around the country.. Frank's on Preston behind the Expo Center is a deli/meat shop that makes unbelievable soup, sandwiches, BBQ, platters, etc., for take out. Responsible for several inches on Chuck's waistline. Vietnam Kitchen.. one of the best Vietnamese restaurants anywhere.
