2017 Mid Atlantic Point to Point Kickoff

Spring is in the air and the 2017 Mid Atlantic Point to Point season is ready to kick off this Saturday March 11, 2017 with Blue Ridge Hunt at Woodley Farm in Berryville VA.

Races include hurdle, timber and flat.

The first big timber race is Sunday March 19, 2017, The Foxhall Farm Cup Team Chase at a new location off Lamborntown Road, West Grove, PA. The race will be on Dixon Stroud’s property, across the street from Johnathan Sheppard’s farm. This race was run in Maryland for the last 10 years and will now be run at different locations every 3 years.

Teams of 3 horses run 3 miles against the clock, with the last horse of the team stopping the clock. The fastest time will win the trophy for their hunt club.

Last year 29 teams entered with the winning time posted at 11:27. This is a stretch your legs, blow out the cobwebs race that will help the old timers get ready for the sanctioned races.
