![]() With 3 major Kentucky Derby preps scheduled for this Saturday (Blue Grass, Wood and Santa Anita), we are planning a contest card that will include each of them and some of the other major races from those three tracks. We are trying to keep the number of races to around 9 since scoring from different tracks already places enough of a burden on our hard working scorers.
The actual races and race order will be posted in this thread after we have had a chance to look at the entries for the major stakes races from Aqueduct and Santa Anita. Keeneland is already available. Hope to have a final posting by this time tomorrow. Please stand by. |

![]() Because there are three Derby preps that each offer 100 qualifying points to the winner, we are sure to have a number of Derby starters coming out of this weekend (some of this weekend's runners have already effectively qualified on points). So, we are going to play each of the three preps and other major stakes races from those tracks.
Here is the race schedule, in the order that you need to play them on your contest card Santa Anita Race 5 - Royal Heroine (5:00 Eastern) Santa Anita Race 6 - Santa Anita Oaks (5:30 Eastern) Santa Anita Race 8 - Santa Anita Derby (6:30 Eastern) Keeneland Race 8 - Madison (5:03 Eastern) Keeneland Race 9 - Ashland (5:40 Eastern) Keeneland Race 10 - Blue Grass (6:17 Eastern) Aqueduct Race 9 - Carter (5:15 Eastern) Aqueduct Race 10 - Wood Memorial (5:52 Eastern) Aqueduct Race 11 - Gazelle (6:25 Eastern) The first of these races will go off at 5:00 Eastern; please have all of your selections posted not later than this time. All of the races are clustered, so we will be able to watch them all in only 1 1/2 hours. Finally, please remember to post your selections in the order listed above, NOT in the order that the races are run in real time. I'm trying to minimize any confusion to both our players and scorers that covering major races from three different tracks might create. After this weekend, I'm hoping that we will have a little more clarity from what has been to me at least a very muddied Derby picture. |
