Not only that, you cherry picked derby results that fit your theory, while ignoring countless other years where the horse with the fastest closing time in a prep failed to win the derby.

maybe because i was concerned with colts that could WIN at 10f, not close fast and be slower than the winner

But we do have 3 threads to discuss it in, so there's that.
Thanks, fortunately I have time to waste. I simply couldn't stand it anymore.

I boldly predict that the horse who runs the fastest final time in the Kentucky Derby will be the horse that also wins it.

But I'm sure Dunbar or RTH will dispute that and call me and my reasoning far fetched.

when you asked your question I thought it was for THIS YEARS preps. What difference does it make knowing what horses from past derbys have run. This is 2017 with different horses! Who gives a **** what I'll have Another ran in a prep race 5 years ago?

I do.
You look to the past to see what were the winners statistics. Then you look at this years colts and try to reach a comparison of congruity between this years colts and the past winners data. If this year there is a few animals that have the stats that would have made them winners in the past, at least you know they were capable of a win in years past.

Your kinda of simple aren't you.

You mustn't realize how asinine it is to compare final times from different tracks.

It's almost laughable.
