Default 6/8: Belmont Park (1st-11th; $24k)

BELMONT PARK

POST-SCRATCHES

1st: NY-OCLM/CND, 3+, 7f (P5, P3, DD)

Bust Another won Mike Lee here and at this trip last year and race 2 back will win this; Bobby On Fleek clearly a different horse on dry fast strip; Bavaro may be coming back to best and Davis will see that he makes lead; Toohottoevenspeak runs his best races at 7/8th and took step forward for Schos last out. Won't be 20-1

Best Value: #7 Bavaro 8-1 3rd
Next Best: #8 Bobby On Fleek 1-1 5th
Exotics Use: #1 Toohottoevenspeak 20-1 4th
Super Add: #3 Sudden Surprise 5-1 6th

2nd: NY-MSW, F&M-3+, 6f-IT (P4, P3, DD)

Favorites look solid, but Sand City (City Zip) has license to like move to lawn..

Most Likely: #1 Dreamy Margarita 3-1 WON ($7.20)
Best Value: #10 Sand City 10-1 9th
Next Best: #5 She's Dreamin 5-1 3rd
Exotics Use: #7 Spring Folly Late SCR

3rd: OC/N3X, 3+, 8.5f-T (P3, DD)

Looks like a bit of a chess match with not a lot of obvious pace signed on other than good ol' Fox Rules who lands ideal pilot in Jose Ortiz. Monster Bea was OK v. serious company as a 3yo and should be better 2nd off break..

Best Value: #5 Monster Bea 6-1 2nd
Next Best: #4 Fox Rules 3-1 3rd
Exotics Use: #1 Turbo Street 7-2 5th
Super Add: #2 Zennor 5-2 WON ($8.90)

4th: MSW, 3+, 7f (P3, DD)

Mr Classical debuts for Juddmonte/Brown and has tab that says go; Rough Sea a potentially clever debut claim ($50k) by savvy Niall Saville; $375k Marshall Plan doggedly pursued leader in debut before being caught late; Well bred Newman totes dangerous 'eased last' line; Emancipation is the full brother of Orb..

Most Likely: #2 Mr Classical 6-1 3rd
Next Best: #5 Marshall Plan 2-1 2nd
Best Value: #6 Newman 15-1 8th
Exotics Use: #8 Irst 8-1 6th

5th: 120th Tremont, 2yo, 5.5f (P3, DD)

I'm curious why Dreamy Margarita got so much love in the 2nd today. The rail, Thorograph or a hidden trip last time? I didn't see it on this one and am just wondering what I missed. Thanks for any help from Steve or anyone else.

Because the people who were alive to the 7 hoss, who got scratched, wanted him to be fave so they would get him instead. He was lingering at 7-1 for a long time.

But why were those people liking her in the first place I guess is my question.

On paper (normal DRF/ Bris) she looked average in that field, not favorite material to me at least.

I personally thought she was usable, more because it didn't seem to be that strong of a race. She got an absolute dream trip.
