RIP jockey Diane Nelson
Thoughts and prayers to her friends and family. What a shame. I think she was leading rider here with her bug. She was always nice to the railbirds .

Thanks to Dan for starting the thread and the kind thoughts about Nelson.
She had a disproportionate amount of sadness and tragedy in her life and struggled with the after effects of injuries as well. Not sure the specifics beyond that are too important. She was a gifted jock and inspired a lot of girls to take up riding. It's very, very sad.
