I love FU and even Im not sure if she's better then Stellar Wind, though at 9f and at a likely better price I would have to stick with FU.

The two main CA fillies have to be close to being spent. Stellar Wind has never handled a lot of racing and will be skipping a final tuneup to train straight up to the BC. The problem is, she's laid it on the line in her last two starts--never mind never won a 9f race.

Same goes for Vale Dori, she did a lot of racing in the winter, and didn't look too sharp as the Santa Anita meet wore on, but she did step it back up to give Stellar Wind all she could handle in her last 2. She can't keep going like that and curiously she hasn't breezed in over 2 weeks.

Yeah those 2 threw it down 2x. Vale Dori turned out to be OK. If she's right still, she's a factor in any spot because of her speed. But like you said she hasn't worked in a while.
Who wins going 9f Vale Dori or Songbird?

Songbird has shown she can settle behind a frontrunner if need be, whereas the only two times Vale Dori was not on the engine (the Bayakoa and the Adoration) she was chasing pure sprinters (Sensitively and Gloryzapper). In that respect, I'd think Songbird had a slight tactical edge if she could sit off the other and hound her to death.

But the reality is that they'd probably hook up at the 3/8s or 1/4 pole a la Skip Away and Gentlemen and set it up for some stretch runner (Abel Tasman without Smith?).
