Sorry to hear that. He was one of those that "got away" for me. I can remember sitting at a table with some strangers at Oaklawn for the simulcast of his Kentucky Derby and one of them asked me who I liked in the race and I told them "Thunder Gulch, but nobody else seems to like him." I think he was 25 to 1. I passed on him that day and of course have been kicking myself ever since.

Sad to hear. He was a very good horse and a very good sire. He lived a long life and will be remembered through his bloodlines. Rightfully so.

Thunder Gulch
Was one of my faves too. Saw him run his eyeballs out in Florida at Gulfstream. After seeing that fortitude in the flesh, Cashed the derby...exacta and tri for big bucks and bought a nice Lincoln Town car with 5000 miles on it. I always loved that hoss. Rest In Peace Buddy.
