![]() Many consider Cigar Mile day as the last day of high quality stakes racing in New York until early spring. As part of that, America's Day At The Races will provide TV coverage on Fox Sports 2 (that's where it is on our cable network) from 3:00 - 4:30 PM. That should permit them to cover the Demoiselle, Remsen and Cigar Mile live and show the Go For Wand on tape delay.
I believe that this card also features a mandatory payout of the Empire 6. Assuming that the carryover pool is not hit today, the total pool for this wager should be very large once you combine the carryover and the expected new money. |

![]() Actually, it was Race 9 that I forgot. It should have been 3-4-5-6 and Race ten should have been 6-5-8-10. Don't know how I did that except Race 8 and Race 9 were only one digit different. Race 8 was 2-4-5-6 and my intent for R9 was 3-4-5-6. I must have thought after I entered Race 8 that I had already entered Race 9 too? I thought it was peculiar that I got a zero in the last race. Didn't even notice that I didn't have enough races.

![]() Cal, I feel very badly being listed as the winner under those circumstances. The race that you didn't get credit for was the only one that I came close to getting correct. I'm sure that you'll be able to even the score next weekend.
Your explanation did clarify one thing though - it helped us understand the method you used to be the only one to have Shotski on top in the Remsen. In putting together my feeble attempt at a pick 6, the best I could do was to make him a "C". |

![]() No reason to feel badly. I don't think I would have won even with the additional points from Race 10. Your entry was a brave try at the pick 6. There were a lot of long shots hitting at Aqueduct, which made that a difficult pursuit. I am more mad at myself for my ROI entry than my flub in the points contest. If I am not picking horses badly, I am picking races badly.
I usually really handicap 3 or 4 races and invariable pick the one that I think looks easiest which often turns out to be harder than I anticipate and then I miss a race like the feature race on Saturday in which I actually had a good opinion. ![]() Last edited by cal828 : 12-09-2019 at 09:26 AM. |
