What kind of reaction were you looking for? Most of us are used to the sport doing one dumb thing after another. Like suspending him for 14 days but letting him ride the Florida Derby card. Like suspending Irad but letting him ride the stakes. There is no deterrent to poor behavior in this sport. Paco is a menace. Irad gave him what he deserved when he punched him in the face. Irad is just as bad. |

![]() There is no reasoning with any of these suspensions——if he was given 30 days prior because of multiple occurrences shouldn’t this one be even longer——Lopez was given a 30-day suspension by the Gulfstream Park stewards for his role in a two-horse spill here on Jan. 31, 2019 that injured two jockeys, including Romero Maragh, who underwent spinal surgery the following day. When announcing the ruling in 2019, DiMauro said the suspension was lengthened due to multiple occurrences of Lopez “being either reprimanded, fined or suspended.”

![]() What reaction?
I thought it being a spill in a big race with probably a large audience, GP might do something more than their usual nothing. My bad, expecting GP to act responsible. Apparently, the optics of a DQ in a featured race is worse for them than the safety of the horses and riders. Now, who times his suspension? If they let GP time it, he could be back rinding in 3 days. ![]()
