Default ROI Results 3/8 @ Tampa Bay

We had an easy winner at Tampa Bay Saturday and he even laid out his strategy before the
races went off and boy was he right. Before we get into that here are the other results. Joly
get 4th place with an easy exacta but the payout was small. It was a profit though and that
can't be bad. Digger edged him out for third via a wager on Evan Almighty in the featured
Tampa Bay Derby worth $120. Second place is Real Quiet's with an exacta key in race 10.
Nobody had an answer or a chance against Cal whose super high 5 in race 11 paid a nice
$303.40. I'm not sure if I ever tabulated a winning super hi 5. And Cal added a trifecta in the
same race to cap off his big day. Congrats on the win Cal. Nicely played and a sweet
addition to your yearly ROI total. None of these results are official until we go to the video
replay. It was a challenging scoring day with 7 winning bets. And if I tabulated the wager of
Indian Hemp wrong please let me know. I have no clue how different states handle scratches
in pick 3 races. Following are the results from the bleachers. See you all next week.

Question for you RQ. What source do you use when you are tabulating the results? DRF? Equibase?

CAL

I use BRISNET when scoring my contest on TBRF
I also use extra base as a back up
Prefer both of those over anything else

What I was thinking was, if RQ uses DRF or Equibase to score, it might be kind of a pain because when you look at the results, they give you the name of horses that are scratched, but not the runner's number. I use XpressBet to watch the races and at the end of the day, they give a listing of the horses that scratched in each race and their numbers which might make it a bit easier for RQ, but then again, he probably has his own way of doing the scoring and maybe that isn't a problem for him. Probably not a problem for him scoring your picks, Ruffian, because you give the horse's name and number, but several of our players don't, including me. Of course, RQ might not want to open an XpressBet account, if he already has another wagering account, but XpressBet does offer a sign-up bonus.

I use Equibase to score and I generally don’t run into any issues. Saturday I also checked Bris. My main issue is scoring scratches in pick 3 and above races. I ‘m not certain sometimes whether a scratched pick reverts to the ml favorite. While I can check the charts for the ptf I’m still guessing whether that applies. In pick 4-5-6 races I guess the rules are different and the payouts list all the combos including scratches If I’m not certain I’d rather ask the group for feedback.

I forgot about that reverting to the favorite rule. I don't often play the multi-race bets.

A number of jurisdictions will offer consolation doubles and pick 3's when there is a late scratch in other than the first leg of either a double or pick 3. When that happens, that is usually noted in the Equibase charts.

In those instances where the scratch will revert to the ptf, the chart will usually indicate more than one winning number in the payoffs when the ptf is the winner.

RQ, I've always been very impressed with the effort you make to get the ROI results correct. It isn't always easy, especially when different racing jurisdictions have slightly different rules for computing payoffs. THANK YOU.
