I'm glad you brought this into the conversation. I watched both the Shoot Around, which was won by a female, and the women's play off...felt a real sense of satisfaction for my kind. I happen to also listen to Imus in the early mornings....hearing him belittle the accomplishment was yet another one of those "slight humiliations" we females have to hear all the time when we demonstrate a level of competence in "a man's world."

Imus will not get fired.First of all his show is a radio show that MSNBC has decided to simulcast. He's not an employee of MSNBC but of WFAN radio which is owned by CBS.He brings in more revenue in 4 hours a day than the rest of the programming does the rest of the day.If MSNBC decides to stop simulcasting his show he wouldn't care less. This will be old news by the time the derby is run.

I jest.

Jest about what? Your friend's not really British?

This is not going away. The reason why is because there is too much similiar stuff on tape that they can show everybody.People, this is not a one time deal here. The "heavy" (Bernard) has said so much stuff like this, and Don is on tape laughing, and then saying his comment was unfortunate.Well,he knew very well what he was gunna say. These are like guys hitting a tennis ball back and forth. If you think Blacks don't care about it,you are f'n just wrong.Just today a guy is telling me about The Williams Sisters, and how these 2 guys joked about how they had a better chance of being in National Geographic(rather than Playboy.) See,this is not on here. They are gunna have so much fuel.MSNBC will be accused of turning a blind eye.The least that will have to be done is can Bernard. If they are gunna clean the show up then he really would be out of place anyways. My God,some of the stuff he has said while portraying a priest??? Oh man..If they start looking at that, this is gunna get worse n' worse.

If they get rid of Imus then i'm sure XM or Sirius will pick him up. If it were me I would've been negotiating with the sat providers years ago. F*ck the FCC.

I have only seen it on T.V. Have never just listened to it.That is unlike Stern(who was NOT carried live on T.V.) This is not the same. This is a bit older audience, and not as hardcore loyal as the Stern fans.

I'm not sure if he was a smoker

FYI: Imus is a very sick man and has emphysema.

I agree with Scuds....Bo has to go. He's just not funny. He's actually pathetic.

And in a contrite gesture, Imus should publicly fire Bernard and replace him with an African American.

I find it amusing when they refer to Imus as a "shock jock"

When was the last time he was shocking?

And when's the last time the guy wore a jock strap?

And the last time he did, he probably used a peanut shell and a rubber band.

I mean the guy's guests are people like John McCain, Tim Russert, etc.
I guess if you're inside the beltway this stuff is shocking.

Add a 10-gallon hat, and who do ya have?!??!
Don't forget the acid-wash denim jacket, with the collar turned up. When did this guy stop buying clothes, 1985?

I have a personal theory that people stop changing their hairstyles at the point in life when they are happiest (which indicates to me that Rod Stewart and Liza Minelli were both happiest around 1973). Imus appears to have gone overboard, with not only his hair but his wardrobe calling back to a kinder, simpler time when he was perhaps, more popular and when his system could actually handle all the illicit substances he put into it.

Though, applying this theory means Tucker Carlson was happiest in 1958, and I'm not sure he was technically alive then.
