Default Did you see this ride??

What the hell was R. Rodriguez doing on Warwick Wonder today at Aqueduct?? He was 6 lengths clear in mid stretch and he starts continuously looking over both shoulders all the way to the wire.....Very bizarre.

Anyone else notice?

Looks like he had so much horse...
He just had him on hold almost the entire
race, maybe he could not believe no one
was coming...

Did he even ever give an indication to the
horse to start to run? Looks like he was
standing up the whole way. That was a real
beat down.

He doesn't look great on a horse, but at least unlike many guys impersonating jockeys out at Aqueduct right now, he goes to the lead and looks to stay inside.

On that horse today, I think he was just looking to see how far in front he was, so that he could handle the horse carefully. He's a $7K claimer, the bottom of the barrel in NY, and may well have issues. He was probably just being careful. But, I can't disagree with the original post, it certainly looked a little odd.

I actually have a real respect for the guy. He works horses in the morning and I see him at the track all the time. He must really love the game. I can relate.

There should be a thread stickied for bad rides...

Race 4 Aqueduct

The wizard Alan Garcia tries to get through on the rail and decides after two checks that it's wise to go to the outside. Loses by a head at most. Unbelievable how ignorant these guys are at Aqueduct.

The only thing worse than some of these trips lately is arguing about them with the idiots over at my local OTB.

The absolutely most IRONIC ride of the YEAR has to be Ariel Smith, today, on Alpha Charmer. He gets STUCK INSIDE, so he can't do that pathetic sweeping premature move of his on the turn, comes out entering the stretch RESOUNDINGLY bumping the runner up off stride, then is weaving through the CLEAR lane as if he's drunk.

that was tough!!! i'm not a big better and had a 6 dollar pick 3 ticket with that race as the last leg, and it was paying like 205 bucks for a dollar. I sat at my table at Emerald with steam coming out of my ears!! a little karma though, hit the early double at FG about 2 minutes later.

Not as bad as a buddy of mine did. I popped into OTB quick yesterday to throw money in my acct. when I noticed Patty's Combination was running. I thought the horse had a few tough trips in the past so I boxed her in some exactas with a bunch in that race. Well anyway, this guy T who E-Posse and HHH know as well had $50 to win on the 4. Man oh Man he went freaking nuts. He's quite the eccentric as it is, but it was hilarious. What made it worse was the fact that I showed him before the race that I liked the 6. With 11 MTP the 6 was 11-1. It drifted up to 31-1. Nice hit for me, although the 4 was without question the best horse in the race.

Maybe, but maybe not... Jeffie Poo and Jimmie won't let him off so easy this time. My fave driver (ESad) has no shot since Evernham has given him nothing but crap equipment...

P.S

No more posts about NASCAR from me on this thread. Someone will have my head if I keep it up. Hahaha

Can I make one NASCAR comment on this thread? OK. Thanks.
Why the heck do they wait until 3:30 to start this race? Remember when it used to start like at Noon? Or even 1:00? Oh well, back to horsie talk.

I know, thank heavens... glad to see that he stayed out of the wrecks for once (LOL.) I was happy to see the 'Rocket Man' win the 500, though. Lord knows he was long overdue.

P.S

Carl is my 2nd fave.

My boss (who is a Jimmy fan) is always busting on how the 'Rocket Man' always runs fast early, but never finishes....boy, can't wait to see him at work on Tuesday

Generally I think Jockies are overrated in this sport, they can rarely win races on their own; however they sure can lose them. I guess the best jockies make the fewest noticable mistakes. That is all you can ask for when betting a race, a jockey that allows a horse a reasonable chance to win.

One thing I will note is alot of mediocre jockies take money due to their name. I will note one example Bejarano in So Cal, for the life of me I don't see how this guy is considered one of the best jockies in So Cal and furthemore in North America, he is average at most and if bettors keep betting him just because he is a so called good jockey then all the more power to the Jockey bettors. I just don't see it with him.
