Default CAPPER PSYCHOLOGY 501: FOLLOW UP to ALL/ALL?

Yesterday I inquired on the profitability of ALL/ALL $380 exacta ticket for the KD. The thought actually crossed my mind and I wondered how many other goofballs like me did the same.

Lots of responses but I read em all (I think) and I don't recall seeing any telling me "that's not handicapping!"...which it isn't...or is it? I REALLY don't know.

If anyone wants to just give me their choices of

A - ($ $ $ )
All I want to do is make lots of $$ on the Derby

B - ( I think I know my stuff)
I want to see how good a capper I am with a $200-$400 bankroll.

or

C- ( The Psycho Lab Assistant) ...
All I have is $100 and I'll just bet a couple WIN tickets and a couple 50 cent Tri's on a few horses I like throughout the day by experimenting with a couple new "angles" I think I've come up with for the DERBY
( or whatever "new" angles anybody out there is developing for any race, anywhere)

Just Give me A, B or C

To turn what you were talking about into "handicapping" would require weighting the combos--some bare $0.50 bets, others hit multiple times; you could have dozens and dozens of different tickets required. I am sure somebody (more than one) has a program that allows them to do this, when their analysis (weighting their subjective opinion about the relative likelihood of a top two finish for each horse) is input and the projected exactas are known. That sh!t is out of my league, however.

Agree. I like cashing tickets and feeling like I got it right as much as anyone, but I want to be ahead at the end of the day.

For me, I would bet as much money on this race as I have time invested in handicapping it. If you treat it as you would any other race, bet the amount of money you would normally bet. If you have a reasonable amount of time put in, bet accordingly. It would be extremely ambitious to try anything other than exactas and win/place. A few cheap tri combos wouldn't be out of line either. The better way to go in my opinion would be wrapping a pk3 around the race.

B

With the qualifier that I seem to be an excellent handicapper and a terrible ticket maker.
