![]() In the Derby this year, what running style do you think will win the race? Will the "speed of the speed" take it? Will it be so fast up front that a closer steals it at the end? Or will a horse sitting just off the pace pull away down the stretch? Who do you think is the best of these three categories?
My opinion: Speed: Sidney's Candy Closer: Stately Victory Presser: Jackson Bend

![]() Totally unrelated, but man, does Stately Victor have the PP's of a future 5k PEN claimer or what? He'd do damage on that grass.

![]() If the track gets as much rain as expected, I can see a scenario where the first three after a half mile finish 1st, 2nd, and 4th.
Speed: Conveyance. Pressser: Sidney's Candy (Will be a presser on Saturday). Closer: Ice Box.

![]() On paper there is a lot of speed which suggests that the race could fall apart for a deep closer. However, all the jocks who are on front runners may very well try to rate thier horses to avoid a speed duel which could end up being a slower than expected pace.
