$1500 For This?
Dont know if this has been brought up yet but they are paying the owners $1500 in purse at least no matter where you finish at Monmouth. I am starting to notice horses who basically cant move their legs entered multiple times and getting crushed just to get the $1500 and fill up a field. For example in tomorrows 2nd for $7500 claiming, Six Of Hearts, entered for the 3rd time at the meet been beat over 44 lengths in his last 2, Jersy Mojoe enetered for the 4th time, been beat over 75 lengths in his last 3, Promenades Hero, 3rd time entered, been beat over 47 lengths in his last 2. These are just a few in an example of one race! Who can this be good for besides the owners of these poor horses who probably should have been retired? The icing on the cake tomorrow in race 9 #7 Defrest Burn entered for the 6th time this meet been beaten about 80 lengths in his last 5 starts, and now will show earned $9000 in purse $ at Monmouth since 05-23-10. Theres gotta be a better way?
