She looked like the kind of horse who showed ability here and there - but other times would get beat 20 lengths against maidens. That's why I say our medication probably moved her up. You go 0-for-11 in Europe with several terrible races - including a 20 length thumping against Irish maidens at Cork in your final Euro start .. then you come here, romp in your US debut - and go like 6 for 6 this year - with 6 graded stakes wins. |

Whatever, I'm sure Tuscan Evening just needed some new shoes and a trip to the dentist.

And he won that race with Silent Soul, claim off Hoffmans. Puglisi is probably crying himself to sleep tonight.

Yes, she was beaten by just a head, but was disqualified and placed 4th. As a 2yo, she had run 2nd in the G3 Anglesey S and 3rd (by 1.5 l) in the G2 Debutante S. Yet she couldn't win in a several tries in maiden company.

I think O'Neill is intentionally killing these horses so he can eat them.

Oneil
Have I just missed it. No talk in here about Oneils 20k claim, a former stakes winner, Sending her to Losall for 2k . Broke down and put away. She was claimed so he got 2k.. Is this any worse than sending them to a slaughter house?

The thing is, he really is a nice guy, super friendly to anyone visiting his barn (I have a friend who owns a horse with him). I can see why he's able to get owners, he has a well run barn and he's amazingly personable. Guys like him will always do well in this business... Unless a scandal brings him down and it appears this one hasn't brought Doug down.

With regard to your assessment that his barn is well run, I have always heard just the opposite. But he is obviously doing something right. He's winning a lot of races. |

Caught some nice coho[12-15 lbs} but no big kings. Loved the trip and took in Hastings while in Vancouver waiting for our float plane conection. Hastings is where I saw Cigars loss in the Pacific clasic ,

I've fished a lot of the west coast in hard to find spots for monster trout, but that's something I've never done, and would love to do sometime. The salmon fishing thing that is, up in BC and Alaska.
